Frequently Asked Questions

Questions about hair terminology, services, or my policies? I answer them all for you below!

What is a French Haircut?

A French Haircut is a method of cutting that frames the face with the shape of the individual’s head. It builds the haircut from the top of the head and creates the shapes working its way down, so it naturally compliments the individual’s unique features.

What is the difference between a Foil Highlight and Balayage?

Foil highlights create a more dramatic and drastic look from root to ends, whereas balayage is a hand-painted method that paints the top of the hair, creating a more softer, natural look.

Balayage is more low-maintenance and best for someone who prefers to get their hair done only a few times a year.

What is a gloss?

A gloss is like a top coat for your hair! Not only does it add shine, but it can also enhance color or neutralize any unwanted tone while balancing the pH in your hair.

Bonus: it’s awesome for ALL hair types!

How do I know what service would be best for me?

This is exactly why I have the New Client Form and offer free consultations upon your first visit! This helps us make sure we’re on the same page with your needs and wants moving forward.

What is clarifying shampoo, & when should I use it?

Clarifying shampoo improves the health of your hair and scalp, and your color will thank you for it. Using it routinely will benefit your hair in the long-term.

I recommend using clarifying shampoo once a week, followed by a mask (my favorite is a Davines Mask!) that fits your hair needs. Davines also makes an excellent clarifying shampoo that is gentle and won’t strip your hair color!

What products do you use?

Using the highest quality products is something that means a lot to me, and that I’m always researching. Here are a few of my most trusted brands:
•  Davines
•  Keratin Complex
•  Olaplex
•  Sunlights Balayage

Are you accepting new clients?

I sure am! Complete the New Client Form so we can schedule your free consultation. I typically book out about 6 weeks in advance so, if you’re a new client, I recommend inquiring with me ASAP! Of course I understand life happens, and will do my best to accommodate necessary appointments with shorter notice.

What if I want to add on a last-minute treatment during my time of service?

Depending on my availability that day, there may be time for us to squeeze in another smaller service or two at your time of appointment. However, I always recommend inquiring about additional services before your appointment, to be sure we can make time to accommodate for it.

My last-minute services include:
•  Split End mender
•  Waxing
•  Davines Mask
•  Gloss
•  Paraffin Hand Dip
•  Keratin Express Blowout

I may even recommend some of these things based on the needs I identify during your appointment!
